Last day in Wanaka, and the weather has turned a bit.  Today we have had some strong gale winds. The temperature is quite pleasant.  We took a quick drive on the Mt. Aspiring Road round to Glendhu Bay (on Lake Wanaka) and then walked a bit along the track.  The wind stirred up quite a bit of dust, so it was not as nice as some of our earlier walks. We did manage to get some nice views of the surrounding areas and Mt Aspiring (the 23rd highest mountain in NZ).

Tonight the winds continue and rain is forecast tomorrow.  (We have just been upgraded to a Warning for “North to Northwest gales, severe at times”.)  In the meantime, the front moving in is making for some interesting cloud activity.

Have a good night!
